The Enrollment page is the place to view and edit a student's enrollment date, leave and/or exit date, and additional information asked at exit including attendance. (To add or enroll a new student see Add Student.)

To Edit an Enrollment Date

Click into the "Enrolled on <date>" field and edit the date. Click Save when you are done.

To Exit a Student

Click the green +Add Exit or leave. Choose the Exit Reason that best matches the reason for the student leaving your program. Enter the Exit Date and also additional details if you like. Click Save.

The following exit reasons are available:

  • Successful exit
  • Left program to return to high school
  • Chose to leave before meeting requirements for completion
  • Was asked to leave for disciplinary reasons
  • Moved from target area of program
  • Left for medical reasons
  • Incarcerated
  • Left to care for an ill or disabled family member
  • Active reservist called to military duty
  • Deceased
  • Left for other reasons
Once exited, a student's "Active" status will change to "In Followup" (if a successful exit) or "Exited Program" for any other exit reason. For more on Student Status, see below.

Successful Exits

YouthBuild Global primarily considers students who attend and complete the entire YouthBuild program successful exits. For anyone who graduates your program successfully, choose Successful Exit. For more guidance, consult the Affiliated Network Program Design and Performance Standards Handbook.

To Add a Leave and a Return

There may be a time when a student leaves your program and returns at a later date. For example, a student moves away and then comes back to participate in your program once again. For cases like these, exit the student choosing the appropriate reason. Then, when the student is enrolled once again, from the Enrollment page click +Add Return Date, enter the date and click Save. Once you add a return date, the student is active once again.

End of Enrollment / At Exit Questions

At the end of a student's YouthBuild enrollment you will also be asked to answer additional questions about the student. You will notice a number of new issue counts indicating questions to answer.

  • Enrollment Page: Attendance percentage and community service hours (unless AmeriCorps student)
  • Profile Page: Voter registration and court involvement after entry
  • Education Page: HSE credential earned after entry (don't forget reading and math post-tests), Post Secondary Prep Achievements including FAFSA completion

About Student Status

A student's status is the indicator of where the student is in their program life-cycle. Possible statuses are: Active In Program, Exited Program, In Followup, and Successfully Completed Program. Students are considered Active while at your program, In Followup from exit to twelve months after successfully exited, Successfully Completed Program if they exited successfully over 12 months prior (having finished their follow up period), and Exited Program if they have left the program unsuccessfully. Students who are no longer in their Follow Up period or were unsuccessful exits can be found on the "Inactive" list on the Students page.

A more detailed look at a student's status can be found under their name in the student list as well as in the header of their pages.

A student's status in your program can be changed by editing information on the Enrollment page.  For example, changing the exit reasons or adding a return to the program will update their status accordingly.
